Is There A Way To Edit Comments in Taleo Fluid?

We got the question “”Is there a way to edit comments in Taleo Fluid?” from one of our readers and thought it was worth a deeper dive since we had not hit this yet with any of our customers. Here was our response and findings:

No, there is not a way to edit comments in Fluid Taleo. According to Oracle support that functionality has not yet been implemented into Fluid Recruiting as of now. Oracle developers have not yet added it to the Fluid roadmap.

Fluid Recruiting Capabilities by Version can be viewed here if you have an Oracle Support account. If you want to up vote it on customer connect (again you have to be a customer and register for an account) you can do it here.

Legacy Taleo Recruiting Functionality

Under normal circumstances it does look like that should be available as long as this permission pictured below is given to a user.  Your security administrator would need to go to the user type under SmartOrg and then under Permissions Editor – Recruiting – Candidates find the permission “Edit comments in history summary”.  Then they could decide if only the user who made the comment could change it (Only if comments were entered by this user” or anyone who has the permission “Without Restriction”).  If you have that permission granted, in theory, you should be able to change it and likely were able to in Legacy Recruiting.

However, we tested it in Taleo Fluid Recruiting and it did not appear to work.  Oracle is slowly rolling more and more functionality into Fluid and this may be one of those things that are not there yet.  Of course, Legacy Recruiting is no longer available so we can’t test it in that environment.

You can learn more about Taleo Fluid Recruiting in our detailed post on the new interface.
